As we begin the 2019 - 2020 school year, I am excited to begin my 8th year as the School Counselor for Mt. Energy!  I have been a school counselor with Granville County Public Schools for 17 hears. Prior to coming to Mt. Energy, I worked as a School Counselor at Mary Potter Intermediate School and Mary Potter Middle School

My Goal as a school counselor is to promote the healthy personal and educational growth of all students.  I provide short-term, time-limited counseling services which may include individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom guidance lessons. I provided counseling and support in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development, and career development.

I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling (1991) from the West Virginia Graduate College (now part of Marshall University). I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Counseling and Rehabilitation (1988) from Marshall University.  I achieved my certification as a National Board Certified School Counselor (NBCT) in December 2006, and I renewed my NBCT in October 2015.  I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in North Carolina since August 1997. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
